Varietà di uva Champagne
Nella maggior parte dei casi, lo Champagne è una miscela delle tre principali varietà di uva consentite (Chardonnay, Pinot Nero e Pinot Meunier) provenienti da diversi siti e da diverse annate diverse. In passato, una serie di varietà di uva sono state piantate in Champagne, ma ora la regione si concentra solo su tre:
Pinot Nero
Il vitigno principale, che rappresenta il 38% degli impianti totali, il Pinot Nero porta potenza e profondità.
Pinot Meunier
Occupando il 31% della superficie totale del vigneto, Pinot Meunier produce vini rotondi, fruttati con acidità equilibrata.
Chardonnay
